Brightening up the cold winter months is the very colourful Winter Festival of Lights, which takes place at Niagara Falls, this event starts in November and runs until the early part of January, and features literally millions of small lights, which illuminate Queen Victoria Park is a rather magical and enchanting way.
The Winter Festival of Lights is a time for much celebration and also offers a series of concerts and local events, aimed to attract visitors to the area.
January is the beginning of the Niagara Ice Wine Festival this Festival runs for the whole month of January and lasts until the beginning of February. The Wine Festival features all the local wineries that you can visit, seven days a week.
The sunny summer season is always a busy time for Niagara on the Lake, with many popular events being staged, such as the gastronomical New Vintage Festival in the middle of June, and the Niagara International Chamber Music Festival, which attracts leading musicians from throughout Canada and beyond.
September sees the arrival of the Niagara Grape and Wine Festival, which dates back some 60 years and lasts an entire week, comprising a host of different wine-related events.
At the Grape and Wine, there is always plenty of opportunity to enjoy a spot of wine tasting, guided tours of local wineries, artisan shows and an enormous street parade, which remains one of Canada's biggest draws to the area.
Niagara on the Lake, knows how to celebrate Christmas starting the Month of December with the Candlelight stroll, and Santa Claus Parade. Christmas music is piped for the whole month of December in downtown Niagara on the Lake and main street parking is free to all visitors.
